Coordinator, Accounts Payable
Job Summary
The Coordinator, Accounts Payable supports daily accounts payable operations through invoice management, vendor statement reconciliation, data cleanup, and workflow support. This role collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to resolve invoice and payment inquiries, maintain accurate financial records, and support efficient invoice processing. This role also provides backup support for Manager’s Fund Reimbursements and assists with training and special projects as needed.
This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.
What you will be doing:
- Manage daily invoice activities, including correcting interface rejections, reviewing rejected invoices, following up with approvers, resolving invoice issues within invoice processing systems, and processing invoices during peak periods or high-volume cycles.
- Support shared accounts payable mailboxes by responding to payment status requests and resolving accounts payable inquiries from vendors and internal business partners.
- Perform invoice and data cleanup activities, including reconciling vendor statements and aging reports, resolving stale-dated invoices and credits, clearing zero-dollar balances and vendor deposits, and updating credit memo terms.
- Review and approve Manager’s Fund Reimbursements for theatre locations as a backup to the Specialists.
- Respond to Manager’s Fund Reimbursement questions and provide training support to team members, as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
- Assist with special projects and provide additional support to Accounts Payable leadership as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support timely and accurate payment processing.
- Special projects and assisting Management, as necessary.
What we need from you:
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or equivalent related work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel – VLOOKUP, basic formulas, macros, pivot tables.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to apply professional judgment and make decisions based on established policies and procedures.
What we also value (preferred):
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Knowledge or experience working with the full cycle of the Accounts Payable process.
- Experience using with Oracle Cloud, Oracle EBS and OneVue for invoice processing.
- Experience using with Oracle Analytics Cloud (formerly Oracle Business Intelligence), CrunchTime, Corrigo, Cinema Solutions.
- Knowledge of AMC Fiscal Approval Policy, AMC Capital Expenditure Policy, and AMC Tax rules.
Minimum qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or equivalent related work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel – VLOOKUP, basic formulas, macros, pivot tables.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.
